We have a new service development at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital - Hospital 24, we are looking for a Modern Matron /Team Lead to provide professional leadership and line management to a team of Clinical Coordinators and Nurse Practitioners. This is an evolving service with an objective to improve out of hours clinical support in the nursing and medical teams.

Hospital 24 is an extension of our current Clinical Coordinator (CC) service where Nurse Practitioners will work alongisde the CC and the on call Medical teams between the hours of 8pm and 8am to ensure timely and appropriate patient flow through the hospital.

A Matron / Team Lead is required to oversee the team, with responsibility for managing the budget, coordinating of the rota and provision of staff support, development and training. This role will be responsibile for supporting  service policy and guideline development as well as implementation of the service into the hospital.

The Matron / Team Lead will join the Senior Nursing Team having responsibility for hospital wide initiatives as well as their individual team responsibilities, acting as a role model at all times delivering current and evidenced clinical practice working in collaboration in an inter disciplinary approach.

The successful candidate, will be supported in their new role with professional guidance from the Lead Nurse for Patient Safety, will be an integral member of the Hospital 24 Delivery Group and will receive ongoing development opportunitiy and guidance according to their previous experience. Support will also be provided through  annual appraisal, giving the individual opportunity to self assess own development needs and discuss how support can be provided to achieve these.
