We are seeking to recruit a 0.8 WTE (30 hours per week) Band 5 Audiologist to work in the Audiology Department based at Withington Community Hospital.

The Department also covers services at Wythenshawe Hospital and is comprised of an Audiology Manager, Clinical Scientists Audiologists, Assistant practitioners, Students and 3 other administration staff.

We also provide some hearing aid services at Wythenshawe Forum Health and carry out domiciallry visits.

The post holder will cover the following duties – Assessment of hearing both in direct access Audiology and Ear Nose and Throat clinics, hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation, servicing of hearing aids including ear impressions for earmould processing. You may also assist on other diagnostic clinics overseen by senior staff.

You will be involved in the training and mentoring of students as we are a dedicated teaching department and collaborate with research at Manchester University with whom we have close links.

You will be communicating with a range of people including professional, administrative staff and patients with communication difficulties.

You should hold the appropriate qualifications and be registered with RCCP (or HCPC) or at the pre-registration state.

There is opportunity for CPD and this is strongly encouraged.
