Applicants should have undergone at least 3 years specialist training in general cardiology and have some experience in electrophysiological procedures and device implantation.

Wythenshawe Hospital site provides tertiary cardiac services to a large population throughout the North West of England. There are 21 consultant cardiologists within the department including five electrophysiologists and one device specialist. For EP, we are one of two centres delivering services to a population of approximately 5 million. We perform approximately 800 EP procedures of which 30% were AF ablation procedures. Both CARTO and NAVX/EnSite mapping systems are used frequently to assist complex procedures. In the same period we implanted around 800 pacemakers and 200 ICDs.

The successful candidate will receive practical training and experience in all aspects of therapeutic electrophysiology procedures and also attend dedicated arrhythmia clinics.
