Psychological Wellbeing Team Manager, Employee Health and Wellbeing Service

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Wythenshawe Hospital Sites and Oxford Road Campus (with regular travel across MFT sites)

Band 8a

Something exciting is happening at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). As the largest Trust in the UK (and one of Manchester’s main employers), we’re leading the way in unrivalled medical care and treatment. And we’re completely redefining our approach to Employee Health and Wellbeing by bringing together specialist skills and expertise to support our people. And that’s where you come in.

As our Psychological Wellbeing Team Manager, working within the Employee Health and Wellbeing (EHW) Service, you will lead an innovative programme across our organisation – one that helps us achieve new levels of psychological wellbeing for everyone.

You’ll take on senior responsibilities for leading, developing and managing the team behind our Psychological Wellbeing Service. In a role that combines line management responsibility with clinical accountability for service development, you will prove effective and your strategic approach will deliver a robust solution.

Working as part of  a multi-disciplinary EHW service, you’ll recognise and address any psychological health issues that are impacting on our colleagues.  You will deliver services that target mental health issues and raise awareness of this important agenda. In response, you’ll apply evidence-based research to develop and deliver specialised programmes that provide valuable support and education, where it’s needed. At the same time, you’ll be focused on maximising employee engagement with the service, ensuring that every one of our colleagues – internally and externally – benefits.

Qualified in Trauma-Focused Therapy, and bringing a Master’s degree (or equivalent), we’re looking for an individual with BACP registration and evidence of continued professional development. In additional qualifications in clinical supervision and teaching, would be desirable.  You will have a proven track record of team management and service development.

Throughout your career at MFT, we’ll support your learning, development, and aspirations. Join us at the forefront of change, and you’ll enjoy plenty of opportunities, together with all the benefits you can expect as an NHS employee.

The UK’s largest Trust is making big changes. And we want you to come and help us lead the way.

Closing Date: 24th October

Interview Date: 5th and 6th November
