Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 20,000 staff.

We are responsible for running a family of nine hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

We are the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford and the single biggest provider of specialised services in the North West of England. We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology, Cancer, Paediatrics, Women’s Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:

  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching
  • Attracts, develops and retains great people
  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider

We want you to come and join the Team of community Midwives based at Wythenshawe Hospital. If you have the passion to provide kind, safe and excellent care we can offer you a great place to work and develop your career. We are focused on improving quality: for our patients, their carers/families and for our staff.

This is an exciting opportunity for band 6 Midwives to join our Saint Mary's @ Wythenshawe Campus Community Midwifery Team. We provide care to a diverse population, working in teams to cover South Manchester. We are currently working towards Better Births developing new models of care. As well as antenatal and postnatal care we provide a home birth service and have a Birth Centre within Wythenshawe Hospital. Parent Education is also part of our services.

We are one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.   We are committed to supporting midwives in their on-going personal & professional development.

We provide a full range of maternity services over two sites; Saint Mary's Oxford Road Campus and Saint Mary's at Wythenshawe. Both based in the heart of Manchester we have a lively and vibrant working atmosphere, with quick and easy transport links. Saint Mary's managed clinical service is very busy delivering over 13,000 babies each year and providing excellent midwifery care.
