ST4-8 equivalent Senior Clinical Fellow in Neonatology

Applications are invited for the above role to commence from September 2018 to March 2019

The Neonatal department with 59 cots, is housed in St Marys Hospital; there are over 9000 deliveries per year. St. Mary’s is the tertiary referral centre for high risk Obstetrics and Neonatology. There is a local neonatal unit based at Wythenshawe Hospital which is a part of the Neonatal Managed Clinical Service within MFT. This post offers excellent experience in the care of sick and extremely preterm infants with medical and surgical problems. Training will be provided in the assessment and stabilisation of critically ill neonates.

It is essential that applicants have a minimum of six months previous experience in Paediatrics or six months in a closely allied specialty (UK or equivalent). Part 1 MRCPCH or equivalent level is highly desirable. There is excellent training in Neonatology with first class facilities, research experience, a friendly atmosphere and close working arrangements with highly trained neonatal nurses. A full shift system (9 ST4-8 Clinical Fellows) is in operation.

Salary for this post will be on the Specialty Registrar fixed term payscale.

This post is not recognised for training and does not carry deanery educational and training approval; however the Trust has recently developed an Education and Training Contract, which outlines the Trust’s commitment to each junior. Each junior doctor on the scheme also has a named educational supervisor. Study/ exam leave together with financial support for exam courses may be provided.
