Orthoptic Assistant – band 3 Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time (37.5 hours) orthoptic assistant to join the orthoptic and ophthalmology team in Clinic H, MREH.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, motivated and caring individuals who would like a new challenge in their career. This post is to assist the orthoptic team and ophthalmologists in delivering a high quality service to a wide age range of patients and a spectrum of cognitive abilities.    Responsibilities and duties of the post will include vision assessment of children and adults, visual field and colour vision assessment, installation of eye drops and phlebotomy for adult clinics in addition to supporting the smooth running of the ophthalmology and orthoptic clinics. Full training and competency assessment will be given and the department is dedicated to personal and professional development.

Applicants would be joining a team of 20 orthoptists and will work closely with the clinical scientists, ECLO, ophthalmologists, paediatric nurses and optometrists.
