Full time: 37.5 hrs.

Closing Date:

12 month fixed term.

The Clinical Research Network of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is led by a national Coordinating Centre, and operates through 15 Local Clinical Research Networks (LCRNs). The Clinical Research Network Greater Manchester (CRN: GM) drives clinical research delivery performance across the locality, and champions the role of clinical research in the NHS at every level.

This exciting post will provide an opportunity for you to help develop, support and drive forward clinical research.  This post will primarily be supporting and facilitating the use of a research recruitment and feasibility tool (an anonymised aggregated database, based on electronic patient records), across Greater Manchester. The post holder will develop database searches based on research protocols and make recommendations about appropriate recruitment targets and sites, with the support of other team members.

Other duties will include providing specialist skills and knowledge to support the running of clinical research studies across the CRN:GM, including recruiting and supporting patients participating in network studies (predominantly although not exclusively within Primary Care).

We need a capable and confident clinical professional who enjoys a challenge and would champion and drive forward research in Greater Manchester. Full training in the use of the research recruitment and feasibility tool will be provided, as well as on-going support. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a willingness to work across organisations independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Applications are invited from registered nurses who have a minimum of 2 years’ post registration experience ideally with experience in clinical research &/or Primary care.

CRN GM is a hosted service of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), so you will be employed by MFT/CRN GM, based out at sites within Greater Manchester and will be accountable & responsible to the respective CRN GM Team Lead Research Nurse & CRN GM Research Nurse Manager.
