Vascular Surgery, Manchester Royal Infirmary

Vascular/Endovascular Clinical Fellow Post – Substantive/fixed term contract of 6 months renewable by mutual agreement (Two posts)

The salary is on the specialty registrar payscale currently £31,217-£49,086 plus 50% on call banding per annum.

Do you want to join an innovative, forward thinking and high performing specialist vascular and endovascular surgical team? The Vascular Department at the Manchester Royal Infirmary is looking to appoint a Clinical Fellow in Vascular Surgery.

The post is suitable for those who have already gained some experience of modern vascular practice and are looking to expand and consolidate their clinical portfolio, or surgeons with more experience wishing to focus on a specific area of development.

You will be part of a specialist Regional tertiary referral team in a large city University Teaching Hospital. The full range of elective and emergency vascular and endovascular procedures are managed in this well-supported, highly experienced unit, by a Consultant-led team of surgeons and Interventional Radiologists. You will bring energy, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing patients with the very best standard of care. Although not a Deanery training post, no distinction is made within the unit for the purposes of teaching and training opportunities.

The post is part of a 1 in 6 dedicated Vascular middle-grade on-call rota, supported by 24/7 Consultant Surgeon and Interventional Radiologist cover. You will have specific clinical working arrangements with one Consultant but opportunities to work with all Consultants, and some responsibility for patients on the wider unit. There will be opportunities for radiology experience both in the Hybrid theatre and on established Radiology lists, and for endovenous interventions.

The opportunities of the post can be tailored to suit the individual requirements of the successful applicant within the needs of the unit.
